MacGillivray serves as the Instructional Design Manager for the College of Nursing, where he passionately integrates educational technologies with pedagogical principles to create engaging online courses. With a diverse educational and technology background, MacGillivray inspires learners to succeed in dynamic digital environments while providing valuable support to faculty, staff, and students for their learning technology and pedagogical needs.

Biography

With over 15 years of experience in adult education, MacGillivray has honed his expertise in educational technology and distance learning. His career journey includes roles as a psychiatric rehabilitation counselor, online faculty, educational technologist, and Director of Instructional Technology & Distance Learning across three campuses at another institution. MacGillivray’s contributions extend to the University of Tennessee, where he was the inaugural Quality Matters coordinator and played a pivotal role in designing and piloting the Engaged Online Course rubric, which has since become a part of the campus-wide online educational landscape.
