Biography

Derrick MacGillivray serves as the Instructional Technology & Innovations Manager for the College of Nursing. With 17 years of experience in adult education, instructional technology, and online learning, he leads course development and educational technology initiatives that support both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.

MacGillivray specializes in inclusive instructional design, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), faculty development, and the integration of innovative technologies. He is known for creating scalable, high-impact solutions that improve course quality, enhance accessibility, and empower faculty across diverse teaching environments. His background includes leadership roles in instructional design and distance education, as well as prior experience in counseling, recovery, and digital media development.

He holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership for Digital Transformation, a Master’s in Educational Technology, and a Bachelor’s in Multimedia Design & Development.
