Outreach and Engagement

Student Nursing Association

Nursing Honors Program
UT’s Nursing Honors Program includes academically enhanced nursing seminars, courses, and a scholarly project. Nursing Honors students participate in original research under the mentorship of a faculty member.

Academic Service Learning
A variety of service-learning courses provide opportunities for hands-on learning as students engage in service with a community partner and reflect on their experiences.

The Pulse LLC
The Pulse Living and Learning Community offers first-year BSN students a welcoming environment for the transition to college life, fostering connections with other nursing students and the college’s faculty and staff.

Nursing Ambassadors
Ambassadors serve as champions of the College of Nursing sharing their enthusiasm for the college and nursing as a potential career by hosting recruitment events and mentoring current students.

Study Abroad
Nursing trips take students to places like Belize, Scotland, and Spain to study comparative health care and gain experience working with diverse groups of people. Additional opportunities are available through university wide programs.

Sigma Theta Tau
Founded in 1922 by six nursing students, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) has more than 100,000 active members and 600 chapters at institutions of higher education and healthcare partners from Armenia, Australia, and Botswana to Thailand, the United States, and Wales.
