I am a nurse anesthetist with a background in trauma surgical ICU and experience as a clinical coordinator. I have a strong interest in supporting students’ development of clinical competence and professional skills.

Biography

Aubrey McMillan is a Vol Alumni working as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Nursing. She earned a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) at UT. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree at The University of Mississippi, and she will graduate with an Education Specialist (Ed.S) in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Play Therapy in May 2026. Aubrey also is a Registered Play Therapy candidate and plans to have her official registration in 2026. She is under the supervision of Eric Jett and Franc Hudspeth for Registered Play Therapy.

Aubrey McMillan, MSSW, LCSW does Play Therapist at the Vine School Health Center. She also teaches Social Work courses and oversees Social Work interns. She has an extensive background in Medical Social Work, case management, crisis management, and play therapy. Aubrey became a LCSW in 2020 and has been a clinical supervisor for social workers since 2023.

Aubrey is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society and a member of the Association for Play Therapy (APT). She is licensed in TN, NJ, and CO. She enjoys traveling with her husband Jason and children, and she loves the outdoors hiking, kayaking, swimming, and going to amusement parks.

Biography

Carlee Cousineau is a full-time clinical instructor at the College of Nursing. She received her BSN from the University of Alabama and her MSN in Nursing Education from East Tennessee State University. She continues to practice as a bedside nurse in the emergency department, where she has a special interest in emergency psychiatric care. She has always enjoyed precepting nursing students and new graduate nurses, and she is excited to transition her career into academia.
