Biography

Marian Malone was appointed in August 2021 as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at UT. She earned an MSN with a concentration as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and an education certificate from Saint Louis University. In addition, Malone has a Post Graduate Certificate as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University and a post-master’s DNP from Chamberlain University. Malone serves on the Scholarship and Awards committees, Health and Wellness Committee, Graduate Student Affairs Committee, and Graduate Advisory Council in the CON. As a practicing dual-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, she coordinates and teaches in the Primary and Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner concentration and various core DNP courses. Malone chairs DNP Scholarly Project committees. Her areas of practice scholarship are the care of critically ill children. She has co-authored two episodes of The Peds NP Acute Care Faculty series. In addition, Malone is engaged in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), exploring strategies to promote excellence in graduate education modalities. Professional service contributions include peer reviewer for SAGE Open Nursing, reviewer for Journal of Pediatric Health Care, reviewer for Elsevier’s text Primary Care of Children with Chronic Conditions, and reviewer of DNP project presentations and abstracts for the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) annual conference.
