Biography

Lynda Ellison, MSN-Ed, RN, is a dedicated nursing educator specializing in maternal-newborn care. With nearly two decades of clinical experience, including leadership roles in labor and delivery and preadmission testing, she brings extensive hands-on expertise to her teaching. Ellison earned her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Capella University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Throughout her career, Ellison has been a strong advocate for compassionate, patient-centered care. Her experience spans labor and delivery, preoperative care, and international healthcare outreach. She has mentored nursing students, organized staff training sessions, and even taught labor and delivery courses at an international university in China. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she demonstrated exceptional leadership by developing and implementing testing protocols for surgical patients and staff at a local hospital, earning recognition as Employee of the Month in June 2020. As a dedicated educator and lifelong learner, Ellison is excited to inspire and empower the next generation of nurses through her role at the University of Tennessee College of Nursing.
