Biography
| Dr. Susan Hébert, PhD, RN, CHSE, serves as the Assistant Dean of Simulation and is a collaborator of the Health Innovation Technology in Simulation (HITS) Lab. In her role, Dr. Hébert oversees all simulation activities within both undergraduate and graduate curricula. This includes integrating simulation into the curriculum, facilitating simulation faculty development, administering the simulation program, conducting simulation research, and mentoring students and faculty in simulation research activities.
Dr. Hébert is recognized as a nursing innovator and has contributed to the development of several technologies developed for healthcare education. She is an expert consultant in simulation faculty development, accreditation, space design, and curricular integration. Dr. Hébert has established academic/practice partnerships aimed at promoting simulation best practices and fostering the growth of simulation educators and programs in the East Tennessee region, the United States, and internationally. With an extensive clinical background in Neonatal Intensive Care and clinical nurse education, Dr. Hébert brings valuable expertise to her role. She holds a Ph.D. in Nursing from UTK College of Nursing, a Master of Science in Medical Simulation from Drexel College of Medicine, and a BSN from Illinois Wesleyan University. |
