Global Opportunities

International travel has been suspended through the Fall semester. We are using this time to identify and plan international opportunities for College of Nursing students.

List of Opportunities (PDF)

All nursing students are encouraged to participate in a study abroad opportunity. Some international experiences require nursing classes prior to the trip, while others do not have that requirement. Most College of Nursing’s international experiences span 7 to 10 days. There may be longer international experiences that occur over the summer break.

Currently we offer programs in the following countries:  Belize, Kenya, Scotland, and Spain. There are current research opportunities with a Nursing School in Nigeria and the Centre for Medicine and Aging in Stavanger, Norway. Future trips are planned for Malawi and Panama.

The expenses for an international experience are typically between $2,500.00 and $3,500.00. Partial scholarships for these opportunities are available through the College of Nursing, Center for Global Engagement, and the Honors College.

Information and applications can be found at: Center for Global Engagement and Vols Programs Abroad. Choose Nursing from the Parameters:  Field of Study and search.
