Tracy L. Brewer

Dr. Brewer earned a DNP in Educational Leadership from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH and a MSN in Nursing Education from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.  Additionally, she received a BSN in Nursing from Miami University in Oxford, OH. Dr. Brewer is a certified inpatient obstetrical nurse (RNC-OB) and certified lactation counselor (CLC).

Dr. Brewer teaches in the DNP and RN to BSN programs at the University of Tennessee, College of Nursing.  Her areas of interest in teaching are evidence-based practice, quality improvement, pathophysiology, and DNP project development.  Her research interests include understanding the organizational culture of both practice and academic settings for implementation and beliefs towards adopting evidence-based practice (EBP).

Additionally, Dr. Brewer is a member of the national Research Advisory Panel for the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN).  She is a member and grant reviewer for the Society of Pediatric Nurses and serves as a journal reviewer for “Pediatrics” and “Journal for Specialists in Pediatric Nursing”.
