Biography

Christina Brown began her healthcare career while serving active duty as a U.S. Navy Corpsman and earned her AA from the University of Phoenix (2003) while doing so. She received her BSN from Tennessee Wesleyan (2006), and earned a MSN with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from Carson-Newman University (2009). Christina has worked in many aspects of healthcare over the last 20 years, but found her true passion to lie within the field of Oncology. Christina is a Clinical Instructor in the undergraduate and RN-BSN programs at the University of Tennessee, College of Nursing. Christina’s research interests are in the areas of grief, and how it impacts oncology patients mentally and physically, as how grief affects oncology nurses’ mental health, physical health, and job satisfaction. Furthermore, Christina has an interest in caring for homeless and underserved populations in East Tennessee.
