Responsibilities
Cardwell serves as the Director of Communications and External Affairs for the College of Nursing. In this role she manages all of the social media, e-newsletters, and publications for the college. She serves as the editor and lead writer for the annual Vol Nurse magazine. Cardwell also manages the design and content for the nursing website, and conducts marketing campaigns on behalf of the college. She also oversees all public relations and media requests for the college.
Biography
Cardwell earned her undergraduate degree in Child and Family Studies from UT in 2018. Currently, she is furthering her education and honing her skills by pursuing a master’s degree in Digital and Strategic Communications, also at UT. Beyond her professional pursuits, she finds immense joy in her personal life. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, their daughter, Addie, and their three dogs – Sunny, Storm, and Daisy. Kara is dedicated to her community and serves as a cheerleading coach at her alma mater, Central High School.
