Biography

April Bryant received her MSN with a family nurse practitioner concentration from Vanderbilt University. She began her nursing career by earning a diploma from Tennessee College of Applied Science and completed an ASN at Lincoln Memorial University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in nursing from the University.

Bryant teaches in the undergraduate program. Her professional interests include health disparities in Rural Appalachia, culturally congruent care, women’s health, and contraception access.

Additionally, Bryant is a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Tennessee Nurse Practitioner Association (TNNPA), Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA), and Sigma Theta Tau.
