Lisa Catherine Lindley, professor, and nightingale endowed faculty fellow has been awarded a four-year competitive renewal R01 grant from the National Institute of Nursing Research.
Lindley’s project focuses on the effectiveness of concurrent care to improve pediatric and family outcomes at end of life. The goal of this work is to investigate the impact of Medicaid-mandated rules that hospice and medical teams of nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals work together to support and coordinate pediatric care across settings and providers for rural children in concurrent hospice care.
“With this project, we will be able to examine critical rural health disparities and contribute to a broader understanding of how policy interventions can improve health equity for disadvantaged and underserved rural children.”
Lindley is a child health services and policy researcher. Her research focuses on health care systems and policy interventions that promote quality, accessible care for children and their families at end of life.
Collaborators on the project include Radion Svynarenko, research assistant professor in the College of Nursing, and Charles Cao from Tickle College of Engineering, Jessica Keim-Malpass, from University of Virginia, School of Medicine, and Melanie Cozad, from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
