Vine School Health Center Awarded 2026-2028 Community Investment Grant

The College of Nursing is proud to announce that the Vine School Health Center (VSHC), a collaborative effort between Knox County Schools and the college, has been awarded the 2026-2028 Community Investment Grant from United Way of Greater Knoxville (UWGK).

This grant supports nonprofit organizations working in key focus areas such as economic mobility, early care and education, and healthy communities across Knox, Claiborne, Grainger, Jefferson, and Union counties. With this investment, VSHC will continue expanding access to essential physical and mental health services for children and adolescents in Knox County.

“Our team provides high-quality health care to keep students healthy and ready to learn,” shared Katie Ingram-Willard, director of VSHC. “With community support we are able to offer holistic care to our clients including well child checks, immunizations, same day sick visits, referrals to specialists, telehealth services, and therapy services such as play therapy, case management, and resource assistance.”

VSHC is deeply grateful for the community’s support and encouraged by what it will make possible for children across Knox County. Because of this generosity, more children will be able to receive the essential health care services they need through care accessibility, improving outcomes, and supporting healthier futures for families throughout the region.

Located in the Langland Building at Vine Middle Magnet School, VSHC serves children from birth to age 21 who are, or will be, students in Knox County Schools. This grant helps ensure young people can receive supportive, comprehensive care in a setting that keeps health and learning closely connected.
