What We Do
The research, teaching, and outreach activities of the College of Nursing are fully integrated with the rich interdisciplinary and community partnerships with local, regional, and international agencies.
Partnerships with colleges within the university, local hospitals, and specialized agencies such as Oak Ridge National Laboratories shape innovative teaching activities such as dedicated nursing units, disaster planning field training, international service learning, and multi-site learning using mobile technology to name a few. See Teaching for more information.
Partnerships with universities, hospitals, clinics, and laboratories enrich the studies occurring at the College of Nursing. Studies are currently being conducted in various areas: obesity, informatics, health policy, and in vulnerable populations such as gerontology, children’s health and those with mental health disorders. See Research for more information.
Partnerships between the College of Nursing and local agencies make outreach programs possible. Such outreach programs include the homeless clinic, forensic nursing services, and a school health clinic. See Outreach for more information.
